A few random sots of the last couple of weeks things have been slowly going back to normal
round here. Duke and I are back into a routine of things. I turned 25 a while back and as my
brother so lovingly informed me it's all downhill from here! I was very spoilt for my birthday note the cake Aaron made and my new pinny Mum got me. Left is a photo of Spot's first Duck! (he didn't fetch it) but we couldn't resist the photo opportunity and the practice maybe someday he'll go duck shooting. So guess what I'm cooking for tea tomorrow night! Aaron has been busy plucking in the garage. Too cold for me out there though! Duke is quite matter of fact about the whole thing. I thought feeding the ducks at the park may have made things difficult for him but no! we were very matter of fact in dealing with it too just made it no big deal and he thinks it's great we are going to eat them. little caveman that he is. Below also my new/old tablecloth a find at the tip shop, it's plastic hoorah i can wipe up the milk and rice bubbles and spaghetti. Our tea the other night looked so good I had to take a photo (a rare occurence for one of my meals to look so good!) casserole and dumplings sums up the feeling in our house at the moment comfort food eaten in front of the fire does it get any better? And finally little William or Liam as he is known in our house and his new passenger poor Jimbo he loves it really though hehehe.

Queens Birthday weekend

Queens birthday weekend has been really busy for us. As always my blog remains a metaphor for my life unorganized and slightly confused so photos are in backwards order, deal with it. Friday night bloody exciting actually-supermarket shopping the bane of my life how I hate pak'n'save. and then a trip to see a friend who loaded Duke up with home-made peanut brownies before we left, see photo somewhere below, biscuits lined up on the couch (note the b'day top Aunty Bonnie) Saturday Morning Duke has learnt his first lesson in cooking- toast! note he licks the knife where'd he get those manners?........Aaron? We dropped Duke at Grannys and spent the rest of the day down at the rental house. Then back to Grannys who made us tea thanks Granny! Then a romantic evening for Aaron and I in front of the fire watching dvds revolutionary road and young at heart.
Sunday- exactly the same as Saturday, but look at my little Southland boy in his woollen jersey and flannel shirt awwww. Sunday night Aaron and I went to the Musos club nice to have a night out although I sober drove, home early though. We got up on Monday morning and made uncle Angus' birthday cake a light saber. We made it completley out of lollie cake something a bit different for a change. Then got ready to go motorbike riding at the beach. It was freezing at the beach but in a good way the dog and I went for a run Duke and Aaron went motorbike riding. Then back into town. We then went to the tip shop where Duke got some new tools and our latest coffee table book Big Rigs of America it's brill, goes with our favourite record Hits For a Truck Driving man. We went to Grannys house for afternoon tea for Uncle Angus' birthday. Duke and William went for a ride in the Go kart (Duke wasn't that happy about Liam being in there can you tell?) James has gotten so big! Uncle Angus liked his cake I hope! and then it was home for a crappy tea and bed! Below is our latest addition thanks to Aunty Sarah who was going to flush em'! Super mega obese fish kinda cool though!
Finally the bottom two photos are of Duke new/old vintage cowboy tent -his new fav hangout. and my munted monkey that I hahmmm knitted? never mind we can only but try.

Birthday party

Duke and I went to a birthday party on Saturday for a friend Duke had a great time once he got over being shy and being my shadow! I made the cake , whoops no Sorry Aaron and I made the cake (thanks Ari) it was a joint birthday for a little boy turning three and a girl turning 6 so it had to be a unisex cake but overall considering my nightmare of a kitchen it turned out ok I hope. I put a photo of my niece Breahn she is getting so grown up here she is doing her im going to be new zealands next top model pose! She is off to America at the end of the year very exciting for her! THe bouncy castle was put to very good use worth every cent to hire it for the afternoon! After the bouncy castle left Duke and I came home collected Aaron and the kids and Duke's motorbike and gave the kids motorbike rides on the empty section next door. Then we had a barbie and I had a few wines it was a very pleasant way to spend a day.
